On October 9, 2020 I purchased a three year home warranty policy with Select Home Warranty. I purchased their Platinum Policy for $1448.85.
I paid extra to include my ice maker and pool equipment. I went over everything that would be covered including all my appliances ( including pool equipment, ice maker, ACs) to insure what the coverage offered.
First issue:
7/3/2022- called to get someone out to look at my pool filter. I explained over the phone that my pool man said it was not working. He is not a pool technician which I explained.
She asked if the filter was leaking, I explained I didnt know, they denied the claim because there was water out there, but its always wet there.
I was happy to pay someone to come out and see what the issues is.
Since then I spoke to 6 other people from SHW everyone told me the same thing, it should be covered they dont know why it is being denied.
8/5/2022- I contacted a lawyer that wrote a letter to the president of SHW
He received via email an auto response as the ones I have attached. And to date no other reply has been received.
I continued calling and on. 8/27/2022 they sent a tech out to evaluate. I paid my $60 service fee.
He said he would get in touch with SHW and I never heard another word. The Tech told me they are terrible and probably would not come through. I finally paid to replace the filter.
I have attached an estimate for replacing filter.
Second Issue:
August 25,2022- AC broke down. I live in the desert and one AC cools kitchen, family room.
Second AC covers bedrooms. I do not have a two story house. Again with a list of calls.
They denied this claim because they said only the main AC is covered. They are both main ACs and I went over this when I purchased the policy.
I begged their rep.
Nelly to let me speak to a supervisor on 8/18/2022, I was put on hold and waited 1 hr. 17 min.until I hung up. Thanks
I have read this policy over and over.
I asked five times for a list of exclusions, and I have not seen one exclusion or additional that can be purchased. If they did offer this obviously I would have made that additional purchase.
I finally replaced the AC myself as my bedrooms were over 100 degrees and the doors swelled up so much they could not be opened.
On 9/14/2022 a supervisor named James Wilson called from SHW, he left me a message to return his call.
I did so only to find get his voicemail saying not to leave a message but to e-mail him. I did and got an auto response.
I am tired of fighting with these people, but I want my money back for the policy and repairs I had to make on my own, not to mention the time spent calling them.
I am 70 years old, and on a fixed income. I took out this policy hoping to save in the long run.
The script these reps. are given is identical, and they are trained to back you into a corner bringing up hypotheticals which would exclude you from the policy.
This company takes vantage of people.
I was amazed to see these reviews when I looked this up, seems they do this with everyone. Unfortunately, I looked it up too late.

Pool filter $1300.00
Total $8231.85

Hi, I subscribed for 1 month, i made a payment using PayPal and never got any service. I call this fraud! They steal from honest people, take the money and never give any service.

Can't sign in, says email/password credentials are invalid which is a lie because i ordered last friday to watch 'On Patrol: Live'. Which i enjoyed fri & sat.
Now it says this! Can't reach a live agent, or talk to anyone!

Chat line was zero help.
Ordered the 'Lifetime' subscription from StackSocial, Activated it a couple of hours ago and I don't receive any of the extra channels, the only thing it includes is the basic package.
Tried to see what the issue was via SelectTv chat & was informed I can get the 'Value' package for $6.99.month. I asked what the price was for the 'Value' package without the 'Lifetime' subscription.
I was told $6.99/month.
So there is no benefit for me to have the 'Lifetime' subscription if I still have to pay the full price for the 'Value' package.
I asked for a refund and was told I had to go through StackSocial where I bought it from, even though they said they are affiliated with StackSocial.
I am not happy and would like I full refund being I have only had this activated for a couple hours now.

Tried to cancel this over a year ago. Now Its telling me it will auto renew. It won't let me cancel.

Selecttv not very useful. It does not even work with Sling tv.
Paid for a lifetime license I cannot even use since their service does not work with Sling tv which I am using since I cut the cord.

I signed up for the 7 day trial. As soon as I tried it out, I realized it sucked.
I immediately went back into the account and cancelled it. They are telling me the cancellation didnt go through, so they wont refund the money they stole from me.
